FACE: Sukin Foaming Face Cleanser

Hey, I bet you didn’t think you’d see me here again so quickly.  Like I mentioned in my previous post I’m working on the adjustments needed to allow blogging to become more regular.

So in this post I’m sharing my thoughts on the Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser which has become a facial skin care staple of mine.

First introduced to me by the lovely people at Balwins.  Once I used the bottle I was originally sent (last year!),  I have been repurchasing this ever since.

It’s a clear gel liquid formula which as the title of the product describes produces a ‘foaming’ consistency when applied with water.

I use this two ways.

When I need to remove a full makeup face, I add the product straight into my hands without water, work into a creamy consistency, add it to my face, work it in, then either wash off with warm water or use a dampened face cloth to gently remove.

On bare faced or minimal make up days, I apply the gel to hands and work it into my already dampned face and then remove with warm water.  Both ways are very effective.
What I love most about this product is the fact that it contains no nasties – look!

Also it’s packaging is very handy in shape.  You are able to get all of the product out without any waste.  Pump bottles tend to be a nuisance so I generally avoid these if I can!

The cost is around £8 – which I think is a reasonable price for a good quality skincare product.

The products ingredients contains Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Green Tea Extract, Witch Hazel, Evening Primrose Oil, Macadamia Oil.

All in all Im happy with this cleanser.  My face is left feeling – most importantly clean, fresh with a non-tightening or stripping feeling.  The scent of the product is non offensive.

Sukin have a full range of products which I’m interested in, however I’m keen to hear if any of you have tried them? Feel free to leave your comments below.

BEAUTY | Weleda White Mallow Face Cream and Lotion

Weleda products are still a firm favourite within my household I have blogged about this here, here and here.

What I love most about Weleda is the ability to use their products in the Baby range and not feel like I’m using a watered down version.

I have recently incorporated one of Weleda’s newest products – the Baby Derma White Mallow face cream into my facial skin care routine.  I received a sample of the White Mallow face cream when I attended the Weleda Insight Day back in June.

I have been using the cream on and off for the past few months, more so as a treatment to soothe sporadic skin irritation that I get, it does a good job of calming my skin down a treat!

The face cream has no scent which isn’t a deal breaker (just something I have become too accustomed to with other products).  The texture of the cream is non oily and non sticky and leaves my skin feeling hydrated after use.

The ingredients found in the cream are natural extracts of White Mallow and Pansy which aid with soothing skin irritations, sesame and coconut oil which provides the nourishing moisture to the skin.

So here comes the exciting news! I’ve teamed up with Weleda for one of my lucky readers to win the Weleda Baby Derma White Mallow Face Cream and Body Lotion.

FACE | G.Baldwins Natural Skincare – Review

Ok so I’m not sure what planet I have been on, and how on earth I hadn’t found out about – G.Baldwins & Co before….I’m just glad I know now.

I am always keen to seek out companies that sell natural skin care due to the long term benefits they provide.

G.Baldwins & Co has an online store and a store in London, which happens to be one of the oldest and most established herbalists. They sell their own products as well as an extensive list of other natural skin care brands, aromatherapy oils, supplements, food, drink and household items – so it’s on my must visit list for when I’m next in the capital!

I’m giving a couple of items a try to assist to my recent woes of my problematics skin.

Pomegranate, Bilberry and Rose cleanser* with White Clay, Papaya and Passion Seed Oil.

This cleanser is very rich and very creamy, you only need one pump which you work into your face before removing either with a warm cloth or by washing off with warm water. On the bottle it confirms the ingredients are a blend of kaolin ( which happens to be great for acne, inflammation and has been used by many for years), papaya and extracts of red clover to assist with removing daily face grime, excess oils and makeup to leave the face radiant and bright – I have high hopes! Once the product is removed my skin is left with a moisturised feel and so hence the next product is appropriate with helping to remove any residue.

Pomegranate, Bilberry and Rose Floral Waters* with Cucumber and Aloe Vera.

Essentially this is a clear water like solution which I use after removal of the cleanser. With a little applied to a cotton pad, I apply to my face with a gentle sweeping motion. On the bottle its confirms the ingredients are aloe vera juice, extracts of cucumber and organic witch hazel which is supposed to leave the face feeling fresh and naturally moisturised. I can say it does I also experienced a slight tingling sensation after use the first time around.

Both products smell absolutely heavenly!  I really love the smell of Rose in skin care, and find that both products do well with not being too overpowering, it’s just more of a luxurious spa like scent.

The packaging is different to a lot of brands out there at the moment, it’s very distinctive and really sets them apart from the rest and really looks great in my bathroom.

It’s very early days for me using both products, in the first few days so far I have had no negative effects.

As you have become customed to, I will share a Part 2 post in a couple if weeks time to let you know results on my skin and my final feelings of both products overall.

If you have visited G.Baldwins & Co either in-store or via the website, I would love to hear what your favourite products are?

Thanks for reading.

BEAUTY | Boots Beauty Haul

September came with a bang and now were officially in leaf tumbling season, I love this time of year!

I have been taking some quiet time for a few days, to be honest I have been a little preoccupied and consumed with everything going on in the news lately …. (From the issues which have been occurring in Ferguson in the US, to political situations and but not least the plight of Ashya King’s parents and their bid to get their son emergency proton beam radiotherapy treatment to treat his brain tumour!) if I’m honest it’s diverted my attention away from everything style, beauty and sparkle and really got me thinking about lot.  I won’t delve any deeper with my thoughts at this point …

I’m back now!  I feel like I have worked extra hard this week, so on a random lunch break yesterday I took to ‘UK bloggers haven’ on the high street and visited Boots….

Here’s what I picked up:

Collection Extreme liner – £2.99

I’m a big fan of this eyeliner for a few reasons it’s so well priced, it’s cheap and it gives great winged lined eye precision that lasts all day.

Barry M Lip gloss – £4.49 (currently on offer ‘Buy one get one half price’)

I bought shades number 2 which is like sweet toffee in appearance and scent, I also bought the shade number11 which is a coral pink gloss which smells uber tropical on application.  Both glosses for my skin tone give lovely moisturised coverage to the lips.  These lip glosses could pass as possible dupes for the Soap and Glory lip glosses but minus the ‘plumping’ effect.

Natural Collection Bronzer –  £1.99

Now I don’t know about you whilst I’m ready to welcome autumn and winter into my life I’m not quite ready for the change it brings to the appearance of my skin.  I want to keep the glow … You know?!  So I thought a light dab and dusting of a bronzer should be just what will help.  I have not tried this brand before, the swatch leaves a nice light finish which is shimmery but not so much that it looks like I dipped myself in the glitter box in my kiddo’s craft supplies.

Weleda Calendula Lotion (for kiddo) – £5.29 (offer save a 1/3 usually £7.95)

I’m a big fan of Weleda… Read why here.

Weleda Weather Protection cream (for kiddo) – £4.63 (offer save a 1/3 usually £6.95)

Not so much for use right now however in the mid bleak winter, kiddo’s skin can get unbelievably dry.  So I’m confident this cream will give her the much needed hydration and moisture that the skins needs.  Weleda uses only 100% natural ingredients this one again contains Calendula.

Earth Friendly Baby Shampoo and Bodywash (for kiddo) – £2.83 (usually £4.25)

I haven’t used this brand before but when I saw it is made by Lansinoh, it’s won a Mother and Baby gold award, has 99.2% of ingredients from natural origin and 50.1% ingredients from organic farming and not to mention no Parabens, SLS and other nasties it quite obviously won me over!

So that concludes everything I bought, I would love to hear what beauty bits you have recently picked up as I’m always on the look out for new things to try!
